Silly Pigeons

HEY GUYS

I think in this post I am instead going to write about my past hobbies! I have done a lot of different creative things throughout my life that I don’t do so much of anymore, but I think it would be nice to look back and think about all the fun things I have done!

  • I used to do a lot of origami when I was younger! I tried it when I was a little kid and didn’t have the patience for it, but as a teen some of my friends got me back into it and we used to leave little tiny pieces of origami all around the school! Looking back on it, it was probably just really annoying for the cleaners but at the time we thought someone might find it and it might brighten up their day haha

  • I also used to be really into the whole thrift flip thing back when it was popular on YouTube (bestdressed was my favourite youtuber ) I was constantly taking clothes and finding ways to turn them into something completely new! I made a lot of clothes that I thought were super cool, but in all reality they weren’t things I would ACTUALLY wear outside of the house. I also had this problem a lot when I first started crocheting, but working out which of the garments more wearable was a skill I had to hone over time :D

  • I also used to play clarinet and piano! I played both from around when I was 7 until I finished school at 18. Sometimes its weird to think that something I practiced so diligently for so long is almost completely lost to me now. After years of feeling like I had to play music I didn’t enjoy at school, I realised that I no longer found any joy in it. Its kind of sad, but maybe it is something I will come back to at some point in the future! Next time round, I’ll be able to play whatever makes me happy

  • On to the next one - reading. This is one I really regret. I used to read at least a book a week my entire childhood up until age 16. I used to read every night, but once school got a bit more intense I began falling asleep in my book every night and eventually falling asleep before I even got the book open. This is a habit I have never been able to regain. I feel like my vocabulary is probably quite a lot smaller now, my attention span has likely dwindled, and my ability to speak articulately has also been hugely affected. Never stop reading kids!!

  • On a lighter note, I used to be a huge fan of making wire jewellery! I never actually wore it but I happened to have a lot of wire, pilers and an endless supply of beads, charms and jumprings around the house, so hey, why not! More recently I have been into French beading, which is pretty much when you make flowers out of beads and wire (look it up it might be something you really enjoy!!) I like to think any of the stuff I learned while making my wire jewellery was useful in learning how to French bead

  • A kinda rogue one here but I used to really enjoy rollerskating! I kinda wish I still did it because its such a fun form of exercise! Its super hard to find anywhere that is actually flat enough or spacious enough to do it though…

There is definitely more but this is getting kinda long now and you are probably getting bored so I think I’m going to call it quits for now. Bye bye!
